A collision between vehicles on the A-49, near Carrión de los Céspedes, has caused delays of up to two kilometres towards Seville. The incident, recorded at 18:51, affects all lanes between kilometres 33 and 28.

The return from the beaches has become complicated this Sunday on the A-49. A collision between vehicles reported in the vicinity of Carrión de los Céspedes has generated delays of up to two kilometres towards Seville, according to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).

The incident, with a yellow service level, affects all lanes between kilometre points 33.0 and 28.2, in the decreasing direction. The stretch extends through the municipalities of Chucena (Huelva) and Carrión de los Céspedes (Sevilla). Slow traffic began from 18:51.

Two stopped vehicles further complicate traffic

In addition to the complications from the collision, there were two warnings about stopped vehicles on the same motorway, both in the Huelva municipality of Chucena. The first, at kilometre 33.3, since 18:26. The second, at kilometre point 31.8, just twenty minutes later.

According to DGT sources, one of the stopped vehicles is involved in the collision, but the other is not related to the incident. The presence of both on the road has contributed to further slowing down traffic during a peak hour.

“A collision complicates the A-49 in Seville, in the vicinity of Carrión de los Céspedes. Towards Seville. Delays of 2 km,” stated the DGT on its social media.

Truck restrictions over the weekend

The day was already marked by restrictions on heavy traffic imposed for this weekend on the same road. From 15:00 this Sunday, truck circulation is limited on the A-49 towards Seville, in a stretch that spans from kilometre 76.9 to 0.0, between San Juan del Puerto (Huelva) and Camas (Sevilla).

This is a common measure during periods of high mobility, such as summer weekends, aimed at facilitating the return of drivers to the capital during peak hours. Drivers in the area should exercise extreme caution and anticipate additional delays.

For residents of municipalities in Seville such as Carrión de los Céspedes or Camas, the incident represents another setback on a day of mass return. It is recommended to check traffic conditions before leaving and, if possible, seek alternative routes via secondary roads.

The DGT has not yet specified when normality will be fully restored, although traffic is expected to gradually recover throughout the night.
