The Town Hall of Palomares del Río has filled two buses with over a hundred residents to spend the day in Islantilla and watch the solar eclipse.
More than a hundred residents of Palomares del Río set off this morning towards Islantilla beach, on the Huelva coast, on the two buses that the Town Hall has made available to residents to promote community during the summer.
The spots filled up quickly: the lists closed shortly after the announcement was published, according to the Town Council. The initiative is part of the municipal summer activities programme, which aims to expand leisure opportunities for residents.
The trip has a special incentive, as it coincides with the solar eclipse that will be visible at noon. The buses will return to the municipality once the phenomenon has concluded, allowing attendees to watch it calmly from the sand.
The Town Hall has sent a message to the participants:
“Have a fantastic day of sun, beach, and eclipse. Enjoy, stay hydrated, protect yourselves from the sun and your eyesight, and let this Wednesday be one to remember.”
This activity strengthens the summer leisure offerings of Palomares del Río, which has previously organised similar trips to the beach, although this time with the added incentive of the eclipse. Participants set off early in the morning and are expected to return at dusk.
