San Isidoro University Centre has purchased three plots with 14,000 square metres in Camas, next to the Vega del Rey commercial park. The acquisition, made two years ago, aims to anticipate future growth of the centre.

The real estate operation, which had not been disclosed until now, was completed two years ago, as confirmed by the academic institution itself. The plots are located in the town of Camas, very close to the SE-30 and the Vega del Rey commercial park, an area currently undergoing expansion.

San Isidoro has explained that the purchase responds to a forecast of future need, as there are currently no concrete construction plans. "We are unaware of the content of the University Programming of the Junta de Andalucía for the period 2028-2032," sources from the centre have stated.

A commitment to long-term growth

The university centre, affiliated with Pablo de Olavide University, has its main headquarters in the Sevilla TechPark on the Isla de la Cartuja, where it occupies a building of 20,000 square metres. It has been conducting its teaching activities there for years, but the management believes that the space may become insufficient in the medium term.

When the Junta de Andalucía publishes the new degrees for the 2028-2032 cycle, San Isidoro will consider whether to apply for some of them and, based on that, decide whether to establish new centres in Camas. The acquisition of these plots allows them to have the land ready for when the time comes.

"The acquisition of these plots has been made as a forecast of future need," the institution indicates.

Over 10,000 graduates and a thousand agreements

San Isidoro University Centre is a private institution that holds institutional accreditation and the Audit seal from Aneca. Since its inception, it has graduated more than 10,000 students and maintains internship agreements with a thousand companies and institutions, both national and international.

It currently offers more than a dozen degrees and two double degrees, including Graphic Design and Digital Creativity, Advertising and Media Communication, Marketing and Digital Communication, Sports Science, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Business Administration, and Law.

In the field of postgraduate studies, it offers master's degrees in Advocacy and Legal Practice, and in Manual and Invasive Physiotherapy for Neuromusculoskeletal Dysfunctions. The incorporation into these programmes follows the official calendar of higher education in Andalucía.

An investment looking towards the future of education in Aljarafe

The purchase of these lands in Camas represents a strategic move for San Isidoro, which seeks to anticipate the needs of the university market. The location, next to the SE-30 and in the heart of Aljarafe, facilitates access from the capital of Seville and surrounding municipalities.

For the residents of Camas and Aljarafe, this operation opens the door for a new university campus in their area in a few years, which would reduce travel to the capital and boost the local economy. However, it will be necessary to wait at least until 2028 to see the first bricks.

For now, the centre remains focused on its headquarters in Cartuja, where this academic year it has once again filled its classrooms. The expansion in Camas, if it ultimately materialises, could relieve pressure on the current facilities and allow for new degree offerings. Everything will depend on what the Junta decides and the demand from future students.
