The Alzheimer Association of La Vega is organising the eighth edition of this solidarity event, which will start on September 16 from the Cultural Centre and culminate in Los Pintores park with the reading of a manifesto.

The VIII Solidarity March for Memory, driven by the Alzheimer Association of La Vega, will traverse the streets of La Rinconada on Wednesday, September 16 at 19:30. The starting point is set at the door of the Cultural Centre, from where participants will walk along San Cristóbal street, part of Madrid street, Cultura street, and Bodegones street, until linking with Córdoba street and finishing at Los Pintores park, where a manifesto will be read.

Registration is now open and the cost of the bib number is one euro. It can be formalised at various locations in the town: at the Tarantana establishment (79 San José street) and at Deportes San José (27 Córdoba street), both in San José de La Rinconada, as well as at the Cognitive Stimulation Centre (4 Manuel de Rodas street), in the core of La Rinconada. It is also possible to register by sending an email to info@lavegacec.es.

Among all the bib numbers sold, a 150 euro voucher will be raffled off to be redeemed at Deportes San José, one of the collaborating establishments with the initiative. The goal for this edition is to reach 3,500 bib numbers so that, according to the association, no one feels alone in this battle against forgetfulness.

AFA La Vega has been working for over fifteen years to improve the quality of life for people with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, vascular dementia, or senile dementia, as well as for their caregivers. In 2017, the La Rinconada City Council granted the entity the space where the Cognitive Stimulation Centre now operates, which has already become a reference centre in the province of Seville.

In the coming years, the relocation of this service to larger facilities that will multiply its care possibilities is planned. For those who wish to collaborate without participating in the march, the association has set up a Fila 0 at account ES19 2100 1612 62 0100753432 at CaixaBank.

Those interested in obtaining more information can call the numbers 955 381 863 and 633 822 345, from 8:00 to 18:00, or write to alzheimerlarinconada@gmail.com.
