The Dos Hermanas City Council continues with the works of the Annual Resurfacing Plan 2026, which includes over 40 streets in the main area and Montequinto, as well as Avenida 4 de Diciembre.

The works of the Annual Resurfacing Plan 2026 being carried out by the Dos Hermanas City Council are progressing as planned, with interventions spread throughout the municipal area, both in the urban centre and in Montequinto. The plan, which is developed each year, aims to progressively improve the condition of public roads and road safety.

The works are not limited to laying a new layer of asphalt. According to municipal sources, the project includes mechanical milling of the existing pavement, raising and modifying the level of access points, replacement of drainage grates and non-standard manhole covers, demolition of cobblestone pavements, installation of drainage curbs, and replacement of confinement curbs.

Additionally, a priming coat is applied and, once the resurfacing is completed, the horizontal road markings are restored and painted, thus completing the commissioning of each street.

The plan is structured into two action lots. The first covers numerous streets distributed between the main area of Dos Hermanas and Montequinto, while the second specifically corresponds to Avenida 4 de Diciembre, one of the main traffic arteries of the municipality and a road that handles a high volume of traffic daily.

Among the streets included in the plan are Juan Díaz de Solís Street, Atahualpa Street, Moctezuma Street, Condes de Ybarra Street (in two sections), Vía Apia Street, Vienna Street, Europa Avenue, Santiago Apóstol Street, Andalucía Avenue, Virgen del Pilar Street, Virgen de Montserrat Street, Alfred Nobel Street, La Viña Street, Vijaldón Street, Cañada León Street, Tesorillo Street, Vicente Blasco Ibáñez Street, Jovellanos Street, Luis de Góngora Street, Juan de la Cruz Street, Marqués de Santillana Street, Emilia Pardo Bazán Street, Gabriel Celaya Street, Ramón del Valle-Inclán Street, Jaime Gil de Biedma Street, Jerez Avenue, Torre de Doña María Street, Pablo VI Street, Juan XXIII Street, Calderón de la Barca Street, San José Street, Aragón Street, Atlántida Street, La Lagunilla Street, Ordesa Street, Alcalde José María Gómez Claro Street, Periodista José María Gómez Street, Montelirio Street, Maestre de los Molinos Street, Las Botijas Street, El Arsenal Street, España Avenue with the roundabouts of Cantabria and La Rioja, Pío Baroja Street, Cristóbal Colón Avenue, and the aforementioned Avenida 4 de Diciembre.

With the progress of these actions, the City Council continues to develop the planned program for the renewal of the pavement, aiming to improve circulation conditions, road safety, and the general maintenance of the municipal road network. Residents of the affected areas should remain alert to the occasional traffic disruptions that will be communicated as the works progress on each street.
