The Town Hall of Castilleja de la Cuesta has presented the summer programme for 2026, featuring activities for all ages from July to September. Outdoor cinema, concerts, workshops, sports, and beach trips make up an agenda aimed at promoting community togetherness.
The Town Hall of Castilleja de la Cuesta has rolled out its summer programme for 2026, a range of activities that starts in July and extends until September. The mayor, Carmen Herrera Coronil, presented the programme with an optimistic message: "summer is coming loaded with surprises." The offer includes outdoor cinema, concerts, children's workshops, magic, sports, swimming pools, and beach trips, all designed so that residents have no excuse to be bored.
Summer Cinema in Castilleja de la Cuesta
The Castilleja de Cine cycle returns as one of the highlights. Screenings will take place at 22:00, with free entry, in two locations: the summer pool meadow and the Parliament Park. The calendar kicks off on July 1 with Paddington: A Jungle Adventure and continues on July 15 with Dragonkeeper, Guardian of Dragons. In August, on the 12th, Mufasa will be screened, and on the 26th, Gang on a Rescue Mission. The grand finale will be on September 2 with Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire.
The sessions are designed for a family audience, featuring films that combine recent releases and modern classics. Attendees can bring their own chair or blanket and enjoy outdoor cinema in a relaxed atmosphere.
Live Music in Parks and Squares
The musical agenda includes five concerts in various public spaces. On July 7, Kafékonlé will bring Latin rhythms to the Parliament Park. On July 28, Oaike Band & Vicky Luna will offer jazz at the Olive Park. On August 4, the Luna Nueva Orchestra will perform at the Parliament Park. On August 18, Carmen Saborido and Rocío Acebedo will blend flamenco and pop on the same stage. The cycle will close with Mashrabiya on September 8, featuring Mediterranean music at the Olive Park.
All concerts start at 22:00 and are free. The variety of styles aims to reach all audiences, from jazz lovers to fans of flamenco-pop.
Workshops, Bouncy Castles, and Magic for the Little Ones
Children will have their own space with activities scheduled for July 9 and 30, August 6 and 20, and September 3, always from 11:00 to 14:00. The events include themed bouncy castles and creative workshops such as flowers made from recycled egg cartons, paper fish, cardboard rockets, or sock monsters. The locations will be the Olive Park and the Parliament Park.
Magic will also have its place with Mago Roque. On July 14, he will present Divertimagiando in Plaza de España; on July 22, Magic for Equality in the summer pool meadow; and on August 24, an activity to learn to control emotions through magic. The shows are free and suitable for all ages.
Sports, Swimming Pool, and Beach Getaways
The summer sports tournaments will take place from July 1 to 15, from 20:00 to 24:00, at the sports centres in the Old Town and Nueva Sevilla. The municipal pool will host Pool Warrior on July 17, from 12:30 to 14:30 and from 16:30 to 20:30, and the Water Party Summer 2026 on September 9.
For those wanting to leave the municipality, the programme On Saturdays We Go to the Beach organises trips to Punta Umbría and Mazagón. Places are limited, and prior registration at the Town Hall is required. An opportunity for residents to enjoy the coast without worrying about driving.
