The Town Hall of Los Palacios and Villafranca has begun the comprehensive renovation works of the Municipal Training Centre, with a budget of €141,000 funded by the PER Estable 2025. The project includes the renovation of five classrooms, restrooms, and offices.

The Town Hall of Los Palacios and Villafranca has launched the comprehensive reform of the Municipal Training Centre, located in the building of the former nursery. The works, which have already started, have a budget of €141,000 from the PER Estable 2025 programme, a grant line aimed at improving public infrastructure and promoting local employment.

The mayor, Juan Manuel Valle, and the Urban Planning delegate, José Manuel Triguero, recently supervised the progress of the works. During the visit, they confirmed that the intervention includes the complete restructuring of five training classrooms, two restrooms, and the administrative management offices. The technical tasks range from the demolition of obsolete elements to the total renewal of plumbing and electrical networks, as well as the installation of new coverings and carpentry.

Modernisation with energy efficiency

The reform is not limited to structural aspects: it also incorporates efficient climate control systems and LED lighting, aiming to reduce the building's energy consumption. This commitment to sustainability aligns with the criteria of the Urban Agenda, prioritising the rehabilitation of existing properties over new constructions.

For the residents of Los Palacios and Villafranca, this initiative represents a direct improvement in the training services of the municipality. The centre, which had not seen significant investments for years, will offer more modern and functional spaces for courses and workshops. The works are expected to be completed in the coming months, although the Town Hall has not specified a concrete reopening date.

Recovery of a public space

The building of the former nursery had accumulated significant deterioration after decades without structural interventions. This reform adds to a previous action in the same complex, where the City Council already adapted the Mental Health area with funds from the Agricultural Employment Promotion Plan. With this new investment, the centre regains its functionality and consolidates itself as a key resource for the training of the residents.

The PER Estable 2025 is a competitive grant programme that finances projects for infrastructure improvement and job creation. In this case, the €141,000 will not only allow for the renovation of the facilities but also create jobs during the execution of the works, providing relief for the local economy. Citizens interested in future courses will be able to consult the training offer as soon as the centre reopens its doors.
