The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council allocates nearly €500,000 in grants for the digital modernisation of small businesses and self-employed workers, doubling the investment from the previous call.
A total of 147 small businesses and self-employed workers in Alcalá de Guadaíra will benefit from municipal aid for digital transformation, with a total investment nearing half a million euros. The call, managed by the Delegation of Development and Industry, has been expanded to cover all submitted projects, representing unprecedented support for the local productive fabric.
Sixteen leading companies join the Industry 4.0 movement
The flagship line of these grants is the Line 3 of Industry 4.0, which provides up to €25,000 per project (60% of the cost), benefiting 16 local firms. Among them are names such as Cidepa, Frutos Secos San Blas, Montealbor, Best Medical, Grupo Bono, and Indaero. These companies will be able to implement advanced technological solutions such as cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, or cybersecurity.
The delegate for Development and Industry, Pablo Chain, has already visited some of these companies to learn firsthand about the subsidised projects. Chain highlighted that “Alcalá is an industrial benchmark, and as a city council, we continue to support businesses, industry, and commerce as a driver of the economy and general benefit for the city.”
Three lines of aid for digitalising from the shop to the factory
The call, which is in the final resolution phase, is structured into three lines. Line 1, aimed at SMEs and self-employed workers, subsidises the introduction of ICT and e-commerce with up to 70% of the project (maximum €3,000). A total of 114 companies have availed themselves of this aid to improve their productivity and competitiveness.
Line 2 is designed for local commerce, with support of up to 50% (maximum €5,000) for image improvement works, communication campaigns, or marketing. A total of 17 establishments have participated in this line. Line 3, the most substantial, finances Industry 4.0 projects with up to €25,000, with 16 companies selected.
“With a total of nearly half a million euros, almost double the previous call, 178 projects from 147 SMEs and self-employed workers will benefit. The total amount has been increased and will allow for the subsidisation of all approved projects, support that is essential for these companies in many cases to continue advancing,” specified Pablo Chain.
Beyond the aid: a strategic plan for the Alcalá industry
The City Council does not limit itself to these grants. Chain has recalled other initiatives such as support for conservation entities, projects from the Platform for the management of Smart Business Parks, and the Alcalá Industrial Strategic Plan, the Industrial Heart of Andalusia. All of this under the philosophy of combining public-private efforts to strengthen the local sector and attract new establishments.
For the residents of Alcalá, this aid translates into a more competitive business fabric, capable of generating quality employment and offering innovative services. Local companies will be able to automate processes, improve customer service, and adapt to new consumption habits, which directly impacts the city’s economy.
The current call, which doubles the investment of the previous one, demonstrates the commitment of the council to digitalisation as a lever for growth. Those interested in future lines can consult the Development and Industry page of the City Council to stay informed about upcoming opportunities.
