The Seville consultancy Servinform has not renewed its contract with Endesa, which employs around 600 workers at its headquarters in Mairena del Aljarafe. The company will attempt to relocate the staff, but the works council warns that the agreement does not require subrogation.

The Seville consultancy Servinform has lost one of its flagship contracts. On July 1, Endesa announced the resolution of the bidding process for the service that the company had been providing from its headquarters in Mairena del Aljarafe. The new contract has been awarded to Indra BPO, Atech BPO, and NTT Data. The decision affects around 600 workers, according to the works council.

Six hundred employees in limbo

Javier López Carmona, a member of the works council and head of the office and insurance sector of UGT Sevilla, estimates that around 600 employees are assigned to that Endesa contract. This represents 41% of the workforce that Servinform has in Seville, where the company employs 1,440 workers. Most provide services from the Pisa industrial estate in Mairena del Aljarafe, where the company has vacated two buildings it had rented.

The company, chaired by Nacho Rufo, informed employees of the situation this week. In a statement addressed to the works council, it assures that it will "work on defining and executing the transition process and, in parallel, will promote all initiatives that can help minimize the impact of this situation, including the search for new business opportunities and the analysis of possible alternatives for continuity and relocation."

No mandatory subrogation

The main problem is that Servinform workers assigned to the Endesa contract are governed by the state agreement on consultancy, information technologies, and market studies. Unlike the teleoperator agreement, this one does not allow automatic subrogation when a contract is awarded to another company. "The company will try to relocate the workers or have them transferred to the companies that won the Endesa contract; it does not mention negotiating a redundancy plan, which would be the correct approach," López Carmona denounces.

The company, for its part, does not rule out any options. In its statement, it claims it will approach the process "with the utmost responsibility, maintaining an open and transparent dialogue" with the workers' representatives. Both parties will meet next Wednesday to discuss the situation.

Meanwhile, Servinform has strengthened its mortgage management business with the acquisition of PONS Consultores, a company that recorded a turnover of 4.89 million euros in 2024. The operation, completed this week, aims to compensate for the loss of the Endesa contract, although no specific relocations have been announced yet.

A company with history

Servinform was founded in 1977 by the Rufo family and today has a turnover of 149.2 million euros (2024 data), with an EBITDA of 7.4 million and a pre-tax profit of 12.2 million. For 2025, it anticipated a 3% increase in its turnover. The company also has an international presence with subsidiaries in Rome, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

Last April, it appointed Rafael Aguado, a partner at AS Equity Partner, as the new chairman of the board. Now, the challenge is how to digest the blow of the lost contract without affecting the workforce in Mairena del Aljarafe. The coming days will be crucial to determine whether relocation is possible or if, as the committee fears, it will be necessary to negotiate a redundancy plan.
