The municipal plenary ratifies the urbanisation project with a budget exceeding two million euros to renew lighting, access and sewage networks.

The Town Hall of El Viso del Alcor will greenlight this Monday the definitive urbanisation project for the transformation of the livestock area, a long-demanded action that will have a budget of 2.1 million euros. The initiative aims to completely modernise the basic infrastructures of the area, including public lighting, roads, and supply and sewage networks.

Tender and works schedule

Following the ratification of the project in the municipal plenary, the administrative process will begin immediately. According to sources from the Town Hall, the documents for the public tender will be published at the end of July, while the hiring of the awarded company will start in September. With this timeline, the start of the works is expected before the end of the year.

The technical design has required months of planning and coordination with supply companies to ensure a comprehensive intervention. The mayor, Gabi Santos, has personally supervised the technical work to ensure that the water and energy networks are prepared for the coming decades.

Modernisation of public services

The investment will not be limited to opening new streets but will transform the environment with accessibility and efficiency criteria. The special plan includes the renewal of public lighting and the adaptation of roads for heavy traffic and local use. Residents of the livestock area have been demanding improvements in an area that had become outdated for years.

The project also includes the improvement of sewage and supply networks, which will prevent flooding issues and supply cuts that had become common. For the Town Hall, this action is key to boosting local livestock activity and retaining the population in the municipality.

Impact on residents' daily lives

The works will affect residents and professionals in the area, who will need to adapt to occasional traffic and service disruptions during the works. The Town Hall has announced that it will inform in advance about the cuts and diversions, and that disruptions will be minimised as much as possible. The forecast is that the complete transformation will be ready within 18 months.

With this investment, El Viso del Alcor takes a step forward in modernising its infrastructures, in a context where many municipalities in Los Alcores are seeking to update their facilities. The livestock area, which until now seemed forgotten, will become a more functional and safer space.
