The City Council of Écija has initiated the Comprehensive Projects for Job Insertion, a pioneering initiative that kicks off with a 120-hour textile sewing course for ten students.

The City Council of Écija has launched for the first time the Comprehensive Projects for Job Insertion, a programme aimed at improving employment opportunities for people with the greatest difficulties accessing the job market. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Cultural and Sports Association for Immigrant Aid (ACDAI), started this week at the facilities of the Economic Development, Employment and Training Area, in the SEDESA building.

The first training pathway is a Textile Sewing Course of 120 hours, in which ten students are participating. Classes are held from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and the aim is for participants to acquire practical skills that will enable them to apply for a job in the textile sector.

Personalised pathway to employment

The programme is not limited to technical training. Each comprehensive project includes an initial phase of job orientation, in which a diagnosis of each participant's situation is made and an individualised insertion pathway is designed. After the training, students receive 40 hours of support in job searching, in order to facilitate their entry into the job market.

According to municipal sources, the aim is to provide ongoing support that goes beyond mere training. "We want each person to have a tailored plan and feel supported until they secure employment," explain those from the Economic Development Area. For the residents of Écija, this represents a concrete opportunity for free training and professional guidance in sectors with demand.

New courses after the summer

The programme will continue after the summer with two new training actions at the Don Bosco Municipal Training Centre. In September, the projects for Building Painting and Basic Bricklaying Operations are scheduled to begin, also aimed at improving the professional qualifications of the participants. Both courses will last 120 hours and will have the same structure of orientation and support.

The Comprehensive Projects for Job Insertion are aimed at people with disabilities, long-term unemployed individuals, those over 45 years old, migrants, people at risk of social exclusion, and beneficiaries of unemployment benefits or subsidies. These are priority groups that, according to City Council data, have particular difficulties finding work in the Écija region.

For interested residents of Écija, the initiative represents an accessible and free resource that combines practical training with personalised support. Registrations for the upcoming courses will open in the coming weeks through the Economic Development Area. As a practical note, the courses are held in the morning, allowing them to be compatible with other responsibilities.
