The La Rinconada Town Council is coordinating the 'Coeducational Mini Incubator' project with five educational centres, which will start in September and benefit around 150 students.
The initiative, funded by the FEMP and the Women's Institute of the Ministry of Equality, aims to promote entrepreneurship from a gender perspective. Students from IES Antonio de Ulloa, San José de la Rinconada, Miguel de Mañara and Carmen Laffón, as well as from CPIFP Javier Imbroda, will participate in practical workshops.
A pioneering project in the province
The Equality Delegate, Noelia Ramírez, has highlighted the excellent reception from the educational centres. “Education and youth are the fundamental pillars for transforming our society,” she stated. The project includes sessions on creativity, teamwork, and identifying gender stereotypes.
Students will develop a business idea, service, or social initiative useful for their environment. Throughout the process, emphasis will be placed on the balanced distribution of tasks and the use of non-sexist language.
Schedule and final phase
The training sessions will begin in September and will run until December. The grand finale will be the 'Entrepreneurship in Equality' Fair/Demo Day, where teams will showcase their projects through posters and prototypes.
Ramírez has emphasized that “we want students to learn to undertake cooperating, not competing under traditional gender roles.” The initiative aims for young people to identify how stereotypes infiltrate language or team organisation.
Local impact and prospects
With an estimated participation of 150 students, the project reinforces La Rinconada's commitment to equality from the classroom. Technical coordination with the institutes is underway to adapt the sessions to each centre.
The Town Council hopes that this experience will serve as a model for other municipalities. “Entrepreneurship in equality is possible and, moreover, it is much more efficient and socially responsible,” concluded the delegate.
