The Spanish national team is fighting for a place in the World Cup semi-finals against Belgium this Friday. The City Council of Seville will install a giant screen at the San Pablo Sports Centre, and several municipalities in the province are joining the initiative.

This Friday, the Spanish football team faces Belgium in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. The match, which kicks off at 21:00, has mobilised councils across the province of Seville to set up giant screens so fans can follow the game in a festive atmosphere.

The capital rallies at San Pablo

The City Council of Seville has confirmed that the San Pablo Sports Centre, located on Doctor Laffón Soto Street, will be the official meeting point. Doors will open at 20:30, and entry will be free until capacity is reached. The anticipation is high: the team is already among the eight best in the world, and a victory would place them in the semi-finals.

The council encourages Sevillians to attend wearing red shirts and bringing flags to create an atmosphere of unconditional support. This is not the first time San Pablo has hosted a giant screen; it has done so in previous stages of the tournament, with great success in attendance.

Dos Hermanas repeats success at Plaza del Arenal

The municipality of Dos Hermanas, which already installed a screen for the round of 16 against Portugal, is betting on the same location again: Plaza del Arenal. Access will be free from 20:00. The locals will be able to enjoy the match in a central location with capacity for hundreds of people.

The initiative has been very well received by residents, who filled the square during the previous match. The City Council has confirmed that it will maintain the usual security and cleaning measures for these events.

La Rinconada, Camas, and Bormujos join the World Cup fever

La Rinconada will debut a giant screen at the El Abrazo fairgrounds, with doors opening at 20:30. As an added incentive, DJ Yeray López will perform half an hour before the match to entertain the wait.

In Camas, the hometown of Sergio Ramos, the screen will be set up at Plaza Jesús del Soberano Poder, measuring 3x2 metres. Access is free. The City Council has highlighted that it is an opportunity to experience football in the street.

Bormujos has also joined in: Carlos Cano Park will be the venue, although with restrictions. The council has prohibited entry with coolers and glass containers to ensure safety and cleanliness. The event starts at 20:30.

An atmosphere that transcends football

Beyond the result, these initiatives turn the match into a collective experience. For many residents, watching Spain-Belgium on a giant screen is an excuse to gather with friends and family, share the excitement, and, why not, celebrate a possible advance to the semi-finals. However, those who prefer the comfort of their sofa will also have options: the match will be broadcast on free-to-air television.

The Spanish team arrives at the match after an impeccable group stage and a convincing victory in the round of 16. Belgium, on the other hand, is a formidable opponent, but the Sevillian fans are confident that La Roja will take another step towards the title.
