The Archbishop of Seville and the mayor of Dos Hermanas sign the free transfer of a 27,355 square metre plot in Entrenúcleos to build an educational centre and a temple. The project aims to meet the growing demand for services in the area.

The Archbishop of Seville, José Ángel Saiz Meneses, and the mayor of Dos Hermanas, Francisco Rodríguez, signed the agreement for the free transfer of plot E-7 in the Entrenúcleos sector this Thursday. The land, measuring 27,355 square metres, will be allocated for the construction of an educational centre and a temple that will address the pastoral, educational, and social needs of the area.

A project for an expanding area

The plot, designated as land for educational facilities, will allow the Archdiocese of Seville to develop a project that aims to be a reference for the educational and ecclesiastical community in the province. According to the Archdiocese's statement, the initiative strengthens the presence of the Church in an environment of constant urban and demographic growth.

During the signing ceremony, Monsignor Saiz expressed his hope that the future temple will be

"a modern church, where people feel moved to pray."
He also highlighted the collaboration between both institutions to dedicate themselves to the
"vocation of service to others,"
noting that the political and ecclesiastical spheres share this goal.

For his part, the mayor of Dos Hermanas emphasised that the new project,

"the result of excellent relations between the City Council and the Archdiocese,"
will lead to a sports centre and a new temple that will become a
"reference point for the province of Seville."
Rodríguez also stressed that cooperation between institutions is
"key to the progress of society,"
as well as the
"notable social work"
of the Archdiocese.

What does it mean for the residents of Entrenúcleos?

The transfer of this plot responds to the need to provide services to one of the fastest-growing areas of Dos Hermanas. Entrenúcleos, a sector in full expansion, is increasingly home to families demanding educational and religious facilities. With this project, residents will not only have a new school but also a space for worship and social activities, reducing the need to travel to other areas of the municipality.

The Archdiocese of Seville considers this agreement a

"new step"
in its commitment to accompany the growth of new residential areas through the creation of spaces dedicated to education, evangelisation, and pastoral care. The operation concludes an administrative procedure that makes the plot available for the promoted project.

Next steps

Although no specific timelines have been given for the start of construction, the signing of the agreement marks a significant advance. The City Council of Dos Hermanas and the Archdiocese will now work on drafting the project and obtaining the necessary permits. Residents of Entrenúcleos can expect that, in the coming months, details about the construction schedule and the educational offerings of the future centre will be clarified.
