The City Council of Seville has opened the application period for the fifth edition of Éfeso Sevilla since this Monday, July 6, a training and employment programme co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus. Interested individuals can register until July 17.
Unemployed residents of Seville seeking a real job opportunity now have a new door open since this Monday. The City Council of Seville has launched the fifth call of the Éfeso Sevilla programme, a project that combines official training, internships in companies, and personalised support. The application period will be open until July 17.
Eighteen pathways for in-demand sectors
This new edition offers 18 training pathways, distributed across 11 level 1, four level 2, and three level 3. The duration of each training action ranges from 274 to 994 hours, and classes will be held in morning or afternoon shifts, as reported by the City Council.
The courses cover trades with real job opportunities in the city: from supermarket shelf stacker and waiter's assistant to bodywork and painting, vehicle electromechanics, or carer for dependent persons. There are also places for butcher, systems operator, or advertising and public relations technician, among others.
“With this fifth call, we continue to bet on training that opens real doors to employment, aimed especially at those who face the greatest difficulties in accessing the labour market,” highlighted the Employment Delegate, José Luis García.
An investment of nearly ten million euros
The Éfeso Sevilla programme has a total investment of €9.77 million, financed 85% by the European Social Fund Plus and 15% by the City Council of Seville. It is expected that, across all its calls, 1,305 people will participate in 87 training pathways linked to 25 official professional certificates, valid throughout the European Union.
Students not only receive accredited training: they also undertake internships in companies, have tutoring, individual guidance, and transversal training. Additionally, the programme offers scholarships for days of attendance and free transport to facilitate the participation of those who have the most difficulties accessing the labour market.
Requirements and how to apply for a place
To participate, interested individuals must meet several requirements: be at least 16 years old, be registered in Seville (or in disadvantaged areas for pathways reserved for these), be unemployed and registered as job seekers with the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE), and have the minimum qualification required for the level of each certificate.
Applications can be submitted through the municipal Electronic Headquarters (sede.sevilla.org), on the project website (sevilla.org/servicios/empleo/efeso-sevilla), or at the General Registry and Auxiliary Registries of the City Council of Seville. To resolve any doubts, the City Council has set up the email efesosevilla@sevilla.org and the phone numbers 955 470 933, 955 471 044, and 955 472 483.
The deadline, however, is short: only eleven days. So anyone wanting to train for a future-proof trade in Seville better hurry up.
