The City Council of Seville has launched the fifth edition of the Éfeso programme, which offers free training with scholarships and professional certificates for the unemployed. The application deadline is July 17.
The City Council of Seville has initiated a new edition of the Éfeso programme, a free training initiative with scholarships aimed at facilitating the employment of unemployed individuals in the capital of Andalusia. The call, which is now open, offers Professional Certificates in multiple areas and prioritises vulnerable groups, individuals over 45 years old, and long-term unemployed.
Interested parties can submit their applications until July 17 at 23:59, both online and in person. The programme is designed to enhance the employability of participants, combining theory and practice in sectors with high labour demand.
Training Pathways and Required Profiles
The training offer for this fifth call includes 14 professional pathways, among which stand out supermarket replenisher, cleaning staff, catering assistant, bodywork and painting, warehouse worker, floor waiter, welder, tiler, caregiver for dependent persons, butcher, systems operator, advertising technician, market research technician, and technical salesperson. All of them lead to obtaining a Professional Certificate, an official title that certifies the acquired competencies.
According to sources from the City Council of Seville, the pathways have been selected based on the real needs of the local labour market. “We aim for students to leave with training that allows them to access quality employment,” officials from the council state. The training includes internships in companies, which increases the chances of hiring.
Requirements and Priority Groups
To access the programme, candidates must meet a series of basic requirements: be over 16 years old, be registered in Seville (in some pathways, residency in disadvantaged areas is required), be unemployed and registered as a job seeker with the SAE, and possess the minimum qualification required for each training level.
Additionally, the programme prioritises vulnerable groups, such as long-term unemployed individuals, those over 45 years old (especially women), persons with disabilities equal to or greater than 33%, nationals of third countries, foreign nationals, minorities, and individuals in vulnerable situations. This prioritisation responds to the municipal objective of reducing inequalities in access to employment.
“We want to reach those who need it most, those who have been out of the labour market for a long time or have more difficulties finding work,” explain officials from the Employment area of the City Council. The initiative has a budget that allows for scholarships to assist participants, covering transportation and living expenses.
How to Submit an Application
Applications can preferably be submitted online through the Electronic Headquarters of the City Council of Seville, although in-person submissions are also accepted at the General Registry and auxiliary registries. It is important to note that the deadline ends on July 17 at 23:59, so it is recommended not to wait until the last day.
For more information, interested parties can consult the council's website, where details of each pathway and registration forms are available. Additional information can also be requested by writing to efesosevilla@sevilla.org or by calling the numbers 955470933, 955471044, or 955472483. This fifth call of Éfeso represents an opportunity for many Sevillians seeking to improve their training and access employment. With 14 pathways and a focus on the most vulnerable groups, the programme consolidates itself as a key tool in the fight against unemployment in the city. Don’t miss the deadline: July 17 is the last chance to register.
