Cazalla de la Sierra, in the Sierra Norte, will reach 38 degrees this Monday, the lowest maximum in the province. Meanwhile, the countryside and the capital will suffer up to 42 degrees with an orange alert.

While Seville and the countryside are baking under an orange alert, the residents of Cazalla de la Sierra can boast of experiencing the least heat in the entire province. The thermometer will reach 38 degrees in the mountain town, a figure that would be unbearable in other areas but here represents a relief. The State Meteorological Agency predicts that this Monday, July 6, will be a day of thermal contrasts: where some are sweating profusely, others can at least breathe.

38 degrees in the Sierra Norte compared to 42 in the countryside

The difference will be up to four degrees between the Sierra Norte and the rest of the province. While Cazalla de la Sierra remains at 38, towns in the countryside like Écija or Marchena will approach 42. The capital of Seville is not spared either, with maximums around 41. The altitude and mountainous surroundings work in favour of the towns in the Sierra, which tend to be the coolest during these episodes of extreme heat.

The orange alert will be active in the countryside and the capital from 1:00 PM to 8:59 PM. In the Sierra Norte, the alert is yellow, with maximums that could reach 39 or 40 degrees in specific areas. For those living in Cazalla, the recommendation is not to be complacent: 38 degrees is still heat, even if it seems like a blessing compared to the hell of the countryside.

A relief for the residents of the Sierra Norte

The municipalities of the Sierra Norte, such as Constantina, Alanís, or San Nicolás del Puerto, will also remain below 40 degrees, but Cazalla de la Sierra takes the crown as the coolest. The weather forecast indicates that temperatures will begin to drop from the late afternoon to evening, although the day will be fully summery. Residents will be able to enjoy a somewhat more bearable atmosphere, ideal for a dip in the municipal pool or to seek refuge in a shady corner of the town.

For those considering a last-minute getaway, the Sierra Norte presents itself as the most sensible plan. However, with the forecast that the heat will not relent in the coming days, it's best to go prepared with water and sun protection. The coolest refuge in Seville has its limits.

The State Meteorological Agency reminds us that, although Cazalla de la Sierra is the town with the lowest maximum, the risk from high temperatures remains real. It is recommended to avoid the central hours of the day, stay well-hydrated, and pay attention to the most vulnerable groups.
