The Nervion club is finalising the transfer of Akor Adams to Venezia for over 15 million fixed and the free exit of Tanguy Nianzou to Lille, which will ease the wage bill and allow for pending signings.

The Sevilla FC has initiated a clean-up operation within its squad that promises to unlock the transfer market. In just 48 hours, sporting director José Ignacio Navarro has facilitated the departure of two key players: Akor Adams and Tanguy Nianzou. The former is heading to Serie A's Venezia; the latter is off to Ligue 1's LOSC Lille. The objective is clear: reduce the wage bill and generate income to address the signings requested by the coach.

Adams, the star sale of the summer

Nigerian forward Akor Adams has become the priority for the sporting management to generate funds. According to club sources, discussions with Venezia FC are well advanced. The fixed transfer amount exceeds 15 million euros, with additional easily achievable variables that could raise the total operation above 20 million. For Sevilla, which needs to balance its accounts, this financial boost comes at just the right time.

The 24-year-old attacker arrived at Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán in January 2025 from Montpellier for around 12 million. His performance has not met expectations, but the Italian market values his power and goal-scoring instinct. Adams' departure not only brings in a profit but also frees up a spot in the attack that the club hopes to fill with a quality reinforcement.

Nianzou leaves for free and eases the salary cap

Meanwhile, the operation for Tanguy Nianzou is practically closed. The French central defender, who arrived in 2022 from Bayern Munich for 16 million, is leaving for LOSC Lille at no cost. However, Sevilla will save over 4 million euros in wages, as this newspaper has learned. Nianzou is waiving part of the salary owed to him, while the club covers a percentage of his final year of contract. A move that, although it does not bring direct income, alleviates the pressure on the salary cap imposed by LaLiga.

With these two departures, Sevilla frees up financial capacity to tackle the signings it has in its sights. The sporting management is already working on bringing in a midfielder and a winger, positions that the coaching staff considers priorities.

More departures on the horizon

The restructuring of the squad does not stop here. Joan Jordán, Federico Gattoni, Fábio Cardoso, and Rafa Mir continue to train separately while seeking new destinations. Their contracts, especially those of Jordán and Mir, are a burden for the club. The idea is for all of them to find new homes before the market closes, although the management is aware that negotiating their departures will not be easy.

Additionally, Sevilla is closely monitoring the potential profits from other assets. Rubén Vargas, the Swiss winger, has attracted strong interest in the Premier League and is valued at a minimum of 20 million euros. Meanwhile, Chidera Ejuke has offers from Belgian clubs, while Juanlu Sánchez remains on Atalanta's radar, which is considering a 15 million offer. Lastly, wing-back Oso is weighing a renewal with Sevilla against proposals from Fiorentina and Nottingham Forest.

The summer transfer market for Sevilla FC is undoubtedly one of the busiest in recent years. The coming days will be crucial to close operations and provide the fans with the news they are waiting for: guaranteed signings and a competitive team for the upcoming season.
