Sevilla FC has reached a total agreement for the transfer of Nigerian forward Akor Adams to Venezia, a deal that will bring the Seville club a profit of around €15 million. The departure frees up salary space and allows for new signings.
Sevilla FC has given the final green light for Akor Adams to leave for Venezia after receiving the player's 'yes' to the contractual conditions offered by the Italian side. The agreement between clubs, which has been in the works for over a week, has materialised in a deal that could reach €20.5 million fixed plus variables, as confirmed by sources from the Nervion club.
The 25-year-old Nigerian forward arrived at Sevilla in the winter market of 2025 from Montpellier for around €5.5 million. Now, just six months later, the Seville club is receiving an amount that multiplies that initial investment by four. The transfer thus becomes the first significant profit of the summer for the entity, which needs to generate liquidity to strengthen other positions.
Numbers that ease the finances
The total amount of the operation includes a fixed part of €20.5 million and variables that could raise the figure to €23.5 million if achievable objectives set by the club are met. The net profit for Sevilla, after deducting the acquisition cost, exceeds €15 million, a breath of fresh air for the sporting management that is pushing to close other negotiations.
In fact, the sale of Adams frees up a high salary and allows Sevilla to register new players without issues regarding the salary cap. The club is still looking to sign a forward to fill the gap left by the Nigerian, and is already probing the market for a proven 9 who fits Luis García Plaza's style.
The attack is left limping
With Adams' departure, Sevilla loses its most expensive offensive reference, but also a player who never fully settled in the team. The Nigerian scored 7 goals in 18 matches last season, a modest figure given the expectations. Now, coach Luis García Plaza is left with Isaac Romero and Peque as the only specific forwards in the first team, which forces a quickening of signings.
