The Mairena del Alcor Town Hall has opened the doors of the renovated Citizen Service Office on San Fernando Street, a project costing 600,000 euros, 85% of which is funded by European FEDER funds.

The new Citizen Service Office (OAC) of Mairena del Alcor is now operational after eight months of construction. The adjacent building on San Fernando Street has been completely renovated to centralise municipal services and expedite procedures, with a total investment close to 600,000 euros, which includes project drafting and furniture.

The project is part of the Integrated Action Plan (PAI) of the municipality, 85% funded by European FEDER funds, while the remaining 15% is covered by municipal coffers. The Councillor for Urbanism, Santiago Mauri, highlighted during the inauguration that the aim is to "minimise the time cost and the back and forth" for residents when completing an administrative procedure.

Unified services under one roof

The OAC groups together services that were previously dispersed in a single space. Citizens will be able to carry out procedures for Citizen Attention and Registration, Urbanism, EMASESA, and soon a fee payment area. The Municipal Register has also been integrated, now featuring an adjoining room for greater privacy.

Mauri explained that the unification aims to "reduce bureaucracy" and provide more efficient service. The municipal staff has received specific training to handle the new digital and in-person tools, according to sources from the Town Hall.

Comprehensive reform and recovery of the second floor

The renovation has not only modernised the ground floor, where public service and the Human Resources area are located, but has also made the second floor usable, which had remained unfinished since the building's construction. This new space provides additional offices for local administration, anticipating future growth in services.

The Register technician, Esperanza Manzano, positively assessed the change: "We have a confidentiality that we didn't have before to deal with sensitive issues, and the conditions of lighting, ventilation, and comfort have improved tremendously."

More confidentiality and comfort for users

The new layout benefits both workers and citizens. The Register room, now separated from the general hustle and bustle, allows for private interviews without interruptions. Furthermore, the facilities comply with accessibility regulations, featuring ramps and adapted counters.

The residents of Mairena del Alcor can now visit the OAC from 09:00 to 14:00 hours, Monday to Friday, to carry out any procedure. The Town Hall plans to extend the hours based on demand, as the councillor indicated.

With this investment, the municipality takes a step forward in the digitalisation and humanisation of its services, in a context where local administration seeks to be more agile and approachable. The OAC joins other improvements driven by European funds in the locality, such as the rehabilitation of public spaces.
