Real Betis' kit, inspired by the embroidery of Macarena and Esperanza de Triana, has become a voice against bullying. The family of Sandra Peña, who passed away in October 2025, stars in the emotional campaign.
Real Betis Balompié presented its new shirt for the 2026-2027 season on Wednesday, but the launch has gone far beyond the sporting aspect. The campaign, which has already garnered millions of views on social media, has become a powerful statement against school bullying and a tribute to Sandra Peña, the young woman from Seville who died in October 2025.
A Design with Sevillian Roots and a Social Message
The kit, which merges the embroidery of the mantles of Esperanza Macarena and Esperanza de Triana, has been the perfect vehicle to launch a message of awareness. The promotional video, directed by the club's creative agency, shows Sandra's family in their home, including her bedroom, and culminates with the phrase: "Never lose hope."
Zara Villar, Sandra's mother, explained in an interview on Radio Sevilla that the proposal came from Betis itself and the family did not hesitate to accept. "When Betis made us the proposal, we didn't hesitate to say yes. If Sandra's parents need to be there, they will be there. And so will Sandra," she stated.
A Campaign That Has Gone Global
In just 24 hours, the video has surpassed 4.5 million views on Instagram and 2 million on the social network X, becoming one of the club's most viral initiatives in recent years. The impact has been such that Sandra's mother wanted to publicly thank Betis for their involvement: "People are thanking us, but we must thank Betis for what they are doing."
The campaign not only seeks to raise awareness of the problem but also promote concrete prevention actions. The Real Betis Foundation will work alongside specialized entities in the fight against bullying to develop educational programs and support for victims.
A Call for Collective Action
Zara Villar has insisted that school bullying is a responsibility of society as a whole. "We need to stop looking the other way. We must fight, and entities like Betis have the ability to reach a lot of people," she affirmed. For her, the key lies in prevention and education from an early age.
The kit, which is already on sale in the club's official stores, includes an embroidered message inside with the helpline number for bullying (900 018 018). An initiative that, according to club sources, aims to remind young people that they are not alone and that there is always a resource to turn to.
Thus, Betis has managed to make a shirt presentation transcend the sporting realm to become a social voice. And it has done so, moreover, with a nod to Sevillian tradition that has moved the fans. Because, as the campaign's slogan states, hope is never lost.
