Noctaíra concludes its tenth edition with a Night of San Miguel that brings its programme to the surroundings of the Eagle church and the interior of the Castle, featuring a double stage and special lighting.
The Noctaíra programme of Alcalá de Guadaíra will wrap up its 2026 edition with a Night of San Miguel to be held on Saturday, September 12. This event coincides with the tenth anniversary of the cultural cycle and, as a main novelty, activities will be spread between the esplanade of the Eagle church and the interior of the Castle.
The Culture delegate of the Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall, Christopher Rivas, has presented a programme that will kick off at 21:30 hours and includes music, dance, theatre, flamenco, and sound experiences. The special lighting of the Castle will be one of the major attractions of the night, as it will enhance its monumental spaces and transform them into unique stages.
"As it coincides with the tenth anniversary of Noctaíra, we wanted to celebrate it in a different way, taking the programme to such emblematic spaces as the esplanade of the Eagle and the interior of the Castle," explained Rivas.
The esplanade of the Eagle will host the performance of Lemon Shaker at 21:30 hours, featuring traditional jazz. At the same time, in the Castle, families can enjoy Almatwins and their itinerant show Magallanes in the Castle.
At 22:30 hours, Grand'Allegro, a future recipient of the City of Alcalá Award, will present The Firebird. In the Patio de la Sima, Bioma, the immersive sound experience by Elena Córdoba and Novia Pagana, inspired by Parque Oromana and the Guadaíra river, will take place. Music will continue at 23:00 hours with Radio Sonora, performing songs by Radio Futura and Juan Perro.
Flamenco from Alcalá will have its moment from 23:00 hours with Vente pal Arrabal, presented by Peña Flamenca El Arrabal and La Cueva de María.
Additionally, throughout the night, there will be guided night tours of the Castle and the Santuary of Our Lady of the Eagle. Tours of the Castle will take place in three sessions: 22:15, 23:00, and 00:00 hours. The tours of the Sanctuary will be at 21:30, 21:50, and 22:10 hours. Both are free entry until full capacity, with a maximum of 60 people per session to ensure a close and quality visit.
"Preserving our heritage does not only mean restoring it, but also opening it up, illuminating it, filling it with life, and ensuring that the people of Alcalá make it their own," noted the Culture delegate.
The Night of San Miguel will bring together music, dance, theatre, flamenco, sound experiences, and heritage in a single evening, true to the spirit that Noctaíra has maintained throughout its ten years of history in Alcalá de Guadaíra.
