The four schools in Guillena, Las Pajanosas, and Torre de la Reina welcome 1,360 students. The Town Hall invested €80,000 in renovations this summer.

The four Infant and Primary schools in Guillena, Las Pajanosas, and Torre de la Reina welcomed around 1,360 students this Thursday. The Town Hall has invested €80,000 in renovations and maintenance over the summer.

The 2026-27 school year began this Thursday in the four Infant and Primary schools in the municipality of Guillena. In total, around 1,360 students have joined the classrooms across the schools in Guillena, Las Pajanosas, and Torre de la Reina.

The Andalucía school has the highest number of students, with around 600 enrolled in Infant and Primary education. It offers morning classes, a cafeteria, and extracurricular activities, which will start in all the schools in the municipality in October.

Meanwhile, the CEIP Guliena has around 300 students this year. It maintains the Erasmus and Learning Community programmes, is a bilingual school, and provides morning classes, a cafeteria, and extracurricular activities.

In Torre de la Reina, the Ntra. Sra. del Carmen school has welcomed around 160 students in Infant and Primary education. It has a cafeteria, morning classes, and extracurricular activities. The CEIP Virgen del Rosario in Las Pajanosas has also opened its doors normally; it is a bilingual school, involved in European programmes, and offers the same complementary services.

The Education Area of the Guillena Town Hall took advantage of July and August to carry out maintenance work, improvements, and minor construction at the four schools. Painting, repairs, space adjustments, and other actions have ensured that students and teachers find the facilities in optimal condition.

The most significant intervention took place at the CEIP Ntra. Sra. del Carmen in Torre de la Reina, where a complete renovation of the Primary rear playground and its access was undertaken. The total investment in the four schools amounts to around €80,000.

Additionally, on September 1, the four nursery schools in the municipality opened their doors. Next Tuesday, September 15, it will be the turn of the El Molinillo high school and the Adult Centre, which will also start the new school year.
