The XXVII Tierra y Olivo Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, 25 October with over 1,600 participants. The start will be at 9:30 from Los Montecillos.

The XXVII Tierra y Olivo Half Marathon now has a date and participation figures: over 1,600 participants for the event on Sunday, 25 October. The presentation was made by the Sports delegate of the Dos Hermanas City Council, Victoria Tirsa Hervás Torres, along with representatives from the Orippo Athletics Club, ASPACE Sevilla, and ALEA Running Social Club.

According to the organisers, the race maintains the high level of reception from previous editions. This year, two initiatives are being introduced that expand its reach beyond competition.

The first is a shakeout beforehand, a gentle run to warm up and share nerves before the race. It is organised by ALEA Running Social Club on Saturday at 9:30 at the City of Knowledge, in the area known as Entrenúcleos.

The second is the collaboration with ASPACE through its “Change Agents Project”. The initiative aims for people with cerebral palsy to participate in community events as active protagonists rather than just recipients of help. During the race, the organisation will have a cheer and refreshment point at its headquarters, along the route.

As in previous editions, the start will be from the “Antonio Guzmán Tacón” athletics track at the Los Montecillos Municipal Sports Complex, at 9:30 on Sunday.

The Dos Hermanas City Council anticipates special security measures, temporary traffic cuts, and refreshment services. For residents, this means diversions and restrictions in the area surrounding the route during Sunday morning, so it is advisable to check the itinerary before leaving home.
