The 2026 edition of the Flamenco Festival La Yerbabuena will take place from June 19 to July 3 in Las Cabezas de San Juan, featuring performances by renowned artists José Valencia, Manuela Carrasco, and María José Soriano, among others.

The Teatro Municipal Ciudad de Las Cabezas de San Juan will host the opening night of the Flamenco Festival La Yerbabuena on June 19, featuring a recital of cante by the acclaimed singer José Valencia. The performance, starting at 21:30, will be one of the first major events of a festival that runs until July 3 and celebrates the rich tradition of flamenco in the region.

This year's program includes a cycle of conferences titled 'Rincón Malillo' from June 29 to July 1, with free entry. The conferences will explore various aspects of flamenco, such as fandangos and the use of language in flamenco lyrics. On June 29, guitarist Curro Vargas will accompany a talk titled 'Por un puñao de fandangos', and the dance academy Diego Guijo will perform. On June 30, Juan Pinilla will discuss 'Flamenco y usos del lenguaje', followed by a dance performance by Sandra Vílchez's academy. The series will conclude on July 1 with a colloquium titled 'Entre compases de yerbabuena', featuring Manuel Cordero, Tere Peña, and Alfonso García, with music by the Escuela Municipal de Música.

The grand finale on July 3 will take place in the Plaza del Santísimo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, with entrances priced at 10 euros. The proceeds will benefit local associations Teacense and Abriendo Caminos. The evening will showcase the cantaora María José Soriano, accompanied by guitarists Eusebio José García and Currito Malena, as well as performances by cantaor Pedro El Granaíno with guitarist Gabriel Lorente, Anabel Valencia with guitarists Curro Vargas and Juan de Clemente, and the legendary bailaora Manuela Carrasco, who will bring her cuadro with cantaores Enrique El Extremeño and Manuel Tañé, and guitarist Pedro Sierra.

The festival, now in its 45th edition, has become a cornerstone of flamenco in the province of Seville, attracting both local aficionados and visitors from across the region. Organizers emphasize that the event not only preserves the art form but also supports the community through its charity component. The Teatro Municipal, with a capacity of 500 seats, is expected to be nearly full for the opening night.

For those interested in attending, tickets for the June 19 recital are available at 5 euros, while the July 3 finale costs 10 euros. The conferences are free but seating is limited. More information can be obtained at the festival's official social media channels or at the local tourist office.
