The mayor of Tomares, José María Soriano, has welcomed the territorial delegate of Agriculture, Alberto Sanromán, to discuss the restoration of the Zaudín Olive Park following the fire on August 6.
The mayor of Tomares, José María Soriano, received on Tuesday, August 11, the territorial delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing, Water and Rural Development of the Junta de Andalucía in Seville, Alberto Sanromán Montero. The purpose of the meeting was to assess the damage caused by the fire on August 6 in the Zaudín Olive Park and to discuss ways for its recovery.
During the visit, the delegate expressed his commitment to restoring the affected area and studied possible lines of action and collaboration with the mayor. The park, one of the green lungs of the municipality, was severely damaged by the flames, which devastated part of its trees and shrubs.
Soriano thanked Sanromán for his presence and willingness to seek solutions. “He has shown his interest and commitment to the recovery of this important space,” said the mayor, who appreciated that the Junta is directly involved in the restoration process.
The Tomares City Council is already working on assessing the damage and developing an action plan to restore the park to its original state. The visit represents a first step to specify aid and coordinate regeneration efforts.
The Zaudín fire, which occurred in early August, mobilised Infoca personnel and emergency services. The causes of the fire have not yet been officially determined.
