The City Council of Seville will install two giant screens for fans to watch the World Cup final on Sunday, July 19 at 21:00 hours. One will be at the San Pablo Sports Centre and the other at Plaza de España, within the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest.

The anticipation for the World Cup final between Spain and its rival has led the City Council of Seville to set up two public spaces for fans to follow the match on a giant screen. The match will take place on Sunday, July 19 at 21:00 hours, and the capital of Seville joins other major Spanish cities that have organised collective viewing points.

The San Pablo Sports Centre will be one of the main locations. A large-format screen will be installed there so that locals can attend for free and experience the final in a festive atmosphere. The sports venue, located on Avenida de la Ingeniería, has ample outdoor areas and parking, although public transport is recommended to avoid crowds.

The second giant screen will be located at Plaza de España, one of the city's most iconic monuments. However, in this case, access will not be free: the screening is part of the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest programme, which that night hosts a concert by Fatboy Slim. Therefore, only those with tickets for the festival will be able to watch the match from this privileged location.

Timings and recommendations for fans

The match will start at 21:00 hours, but it is advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. At the San Pablo Sports Centre, the doors will open around 19:00 hours, and a bar and food truck service will be available so that attendees can have dinner while enjoying the match. The City Council anticipates a large turnout, so it urges citizens to use public transport: bus lines 25, 26, and 27 have nearby stops, and the San Pablo metro station (Line 1) is a ten-minute walk away.

At Plaza de España, access will be exclusive to festival attendees, most of whom have already sold out their tickets. The concert by Fatboy Slim will start at 22:30 hours, so attendees will be able to watch the first half of the match before the DJ takes the stage. The organisation of the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest has confirmed that the giant screen will be located in front of the main stage, with optimal visibility from the stands.

A historic atmosphere for a historic final

Spain has not played in a World Cup final since 2010, when it was crowned champion in South Africa. That night, the streets of Seville were filled with fans celebrating Iniesta's goal. Now, fourteen years later, Luis de la Fuente's team is seeking a second star. The Seville fans, fully behind the national team, hope to relive that euphoria.

The City Council has confirmed that, in addition to the giant screens, traffic will be restricted around the San Pablo Sports Centre to create a safe pedestrian area. A special Security and Emergency device has also been planned, with ambulances and Local Police personnel. The City Council reminds that the launching of firecrackers and flares is prohibited, and access will be controlled with metal detectors.

For those who cannot attend these locations, the match will be broadcast live on RTVE and on the public television's digital platforms. However, the experience of watching it alongside hundreds of fans at San Pablo promises to be unforgettable. As the saying goes, faith moves mountains, and in Seville, faith in the national team moves thousands of people to find the best spot to not miss a minute of the final.
