REDUR and Grupo Textil Alés will establish themselves in the Venta La Liebre Business Park with warehouses of over 6,000 square meters each. Together, they expect to create 130 direct and indirect jobs.
The Venta La Liebre Business Park in Alcalá de Guadaíra will add two new industrial warehouses. The mayor, Ana Isabel Jiménez, along with the Urban Planning delegate, Jesús Mora, and the Economic Development delegate, Pablo Chain, visited the land where REDUR and Grupo Textil Alés will be located, accompanied by representatives from both companies.
The first, REDUR, will occupy 6,350 square meters with 30 docks for trucks and 60 for light vehicles. The facility will feature a parcel sorting system capable of processing around 3,000 packages per hour and a climate-controlled area between 15 and 25 degrees for sorting medications. Additionally, it will incorporate 200 kW of photovoltaic generation and 200 kWh of battery storage. The company expects to create 50 jobs.
Meanwhile, Grupo Textil Alés, specialised in workwear, will build a warehouse of 6,500 square meters and estimates generating 80 jobs between direct and indirect positions.
“These operations demonstrate that in Alcalá de Guadaíra we have finalised land to secure investment opportunities to develop innovative, operational, high-quality projects that positively impact the environment.”
This was stated by the mayor during the visit, before emphasising that the city is processing a new urban planning scheme to enable strategic locations with direct access to the SE-30, SE-40, and A-92, as well as the tram area. For Jiménez, this connection makes Alcalá an ideal point for distribution and logistics centres.
“Our city is located at the junction of the three major population and business hubs of Andalusia, namely Sevilla, Málaga, and Granada. We have areas for expansion to attract significant companies in the logistics and distribution sector.”
The Urban Planning delegate, Jesús Mora, explained that his area is working to complete the redevelopment of the business park with funding aimed at the Urban Conservation Entity, to enhance and requalify the space.
The mayor added that both projects will receive administrative support in all urban planning procedures to adapt to the companies' needs. “We continue to advance in the direction we want to deepen in Alcalá's economy because it implies growth and wealth for the territory and the entire metropolitan area,” she concluded.
