The IX Hunting and Livestock Fair 'Villa de Guillena' now has its dates: it will take place on November 13, 14 and 15 at the fairgrounds of Guillena. Entry will be free, and the organisers have announced more activities, exhibitions, and participating farms than in the previous edition.
The presentation of the poster and the programme took place at the House of the Province of the Provincial Council of Seville, attended by the mayor of Guillena, Lorenzo Medina, and the councillor for Tourism, Natividad Fernández. The manager of La Alfalfa de Guillena and representatives from collaborating companies such as Movelana also spoke.
The aim of the event is to promote Guillena as a destination for hunting, ecological, livestock, and environmental tourism. The organisation seeks to consolidate what is known as 'hunting tourism' or ecotourism, taking advantage of the natural environment of the municipality, with agricultural estates and mountains where hunting activities have a tradition.
The fair also highlights the importance of hunting in local gastronomy. Both big game and small game are ingredients in typical dishes served in local establishments.
The venue will feature stands showcasing products related to hunting and crafts from the sector, as well as a section dedicated to the world of partridges. There will be livestock, hunting, farm exhibitions, hunting articles, textiles, agricultural tractors, trailers, tools, cured meats, and derivatives.
Among the complementary activities, there will be exhibitions and contests of birds of prey, rescue dogs, agility, herding, hunting dog training, and equestrian displays.
The confirmed collaborating farms are Perdices Pavión, Perdices San Marcos, Perdices El Chopo, Perdices Ávila, Cinegética El Plantel, Perdices Sierra Nevada, Perdices Cinedizza, Cinegética La Revolá, Perdices El Chiqui, Perdices Avicultura Cinegética, Perdices Ali Son, Perdices Tavi, and Perdices Javalquinto.
