From July 29 to August 2, Montellano will host the Jubilees 2026 with an extensive programme that includes music, children's activities, and the traditional fireworks display.
The Montellano Town Hall has presented the schedule for the Jubilees 2026, one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the Sierra Sur of Seville. The patron saint festivities in honour of the Virgen de los Ángeles will take place from Wednesday, July 29 to Sunday, August 2, featuring five days of activities for all audiences.
The programme will kick off on Wednesday, July 29, with the lighting of the decorations and a performance by the Coro Ramilletes de Azahares. That same night, the Dinner for the Elderly and the traditional Night of the Fish will take place before the concerts begin at the Municipal Tent.
The musical line-up includes names such as Los Inhumanos, Manuel González (a member of Los Rebujitos), Fran Ocaña, Las Soles, Borja Rubio, Amigos de Gines, MalKerer, Alba Dreid, and Jesús Fernández. The days will conclude with DJ sessions by Miriam Gutiérrez.
The fairground, located next to the San José parish, will also host activities for the little ones: children's entertainment, pony rides, a foam party, and the Colour Festival. On Sunday, August 2, the grand finale will come with a fireworks display.
The Jubilees of Montellano have a historical origin dating back to 1575, when the Ducal House of Osuna granted land on the slope of the Sierra de San Pablo to a Franciscan community. There, the convent of La Breña de San Pablo was built, the first temple in the locality, whose ruins can still be visited.
Every August 2, locals would go to the convent to celebrate a feast in honour of the Virgen de los Ángeles and to obtain the indulgences of the Jubilee of Porciúncula. Over time, the influx of visitors attracted merchants and attractions, shaping the current celebration in the urban area.
