The Port Authority of Seville has opened the process to contract technical assistance to develop its roadmap until 2035. The base budget amounts to 300,000 euros and the work must be completed in nine months.
The Port Authority of Seville (APS) has initiated the tender for the drafting of its Strategic Plan 2035, a document that will define the port's development over the next decade. The base tender budget is 300,000 euros, excluding VAT, and the execution period has been set at nine months. The declared objective is to consolidate the facility as a logistical and industrial benchmark and as an economic engine for its surroundings.
The new plan will replace the current strategy and align with the Strategic Framework of the General Interest Port System, although adapted to the specific reality of the Seville port. The APS aims to enhance the status of “inland maritime port,” taking advantage of its strategic location in the estuary of the Guadalquivir. Additionally, the plan will include a comparative analysis with other international ports of similar characteristics to identify best practices and opportunities.
According to the base specifications, now available on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, the plan will focus on the port as a provider of services, infrastructure, and spaces, in order to meet the logistical needs of its area of influence. Actions related to sustainability, innovation, and technological development will also be promoted, key areas for future competitiveness.
The contract includes the preparation of a comprehensive diagnosis that assesses the port's position within transport, logistics, and trade networks, paying special attention to its connectivity. This analysis will help detect new business opportunities and the incorporation of industrial and logistical activities that strengthen its role in the regional economy.
Among the strategic lines to be defined are innovation aimed at increasing logistical efficiency, environmental protection, security, and the digitalisation of processes. There will also be a push for the social dimension, promoting closer integration between the port and its urban environment through port-city linkage initiatives and enhancing the value of the Guadalquivir estuary.
A fundamental feature of the process will be its participatory nature. The plan will be built from consensus among the port community, the involved administrations, and local socioeconomic agents. To this end, the APS will work alongside the consulting team to facilitate a participatory process that involves all relevant stakeholders and allows for the agreement of a common strategy for the future of the port.
