The Sevilla Fire Consortium will integrate the municipal park of Morón de la Frontera starting September 1, following the meeting of the Joint Transfer Commission.

The Consortium for Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue of the Province of Sevilla has taken a decisive step towards the integration of the Morón de la Frontera fire station. In a meeting of the Joint Transfer Commission, chaired by the Consortium's vice president and provincial deputy for Supramunicipal Public Services, Gonzalo Domínguez, the schedule for the transfer of human resources, assets, and rights was agreed upon.

Technicians from the Morón City Council and the Consortium presented detailed reports on the personnel and assets involved. The new park will begin operations on July 9, although the administrative and plenary integration will be completed on September 1. On that date, the 17 municipal firefighters will become part of the Consortium's staff.

This transfer is part of the Consortium's Master Plan, which in its third phase covers municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants that have their own municipal parks. Morón de la Frontera thus joins other towns that have already completed the process, such as Écija or Dos Hermanas, where integration has allowed for more efficient resource management and reduced response times.

Gonzalo Domínguez highlighted that "this agreement represents progress in the standardisation of the fire service across the province, ensuring more equitable and professional coverage." For his part, the mayor of Morón, Juan Manuel Rodríguez, positively assessed the measure, which "will relieve the City Council of an economic and logistical burden, allowing it to focus on other municipal responsibilities."

The Consortium anticipates that once the integration is complete, the Morón park will meet the same standards of equipment and training as the other provincial facilities. The municipal firefighters will retain their current working conditions, as agreed in the commission. The Sevilla Provincial Council has emphasised that this process "is an example of institutional collaboration to improve citizen safety."

The date of September 1 marks the beginning of a new phase for the fire extinguishing service in the region, which will from then on depend directly on the Provincial Consortium. The residents of Morón and nearby municipalities will benefit from more agile coordination with other parks in the provincial network, especially in large-scale emergencies.

For more information, citizens can consult the Sevilla Provincial Council's website or contact the Consortium through its helpline. The new fire station in Morón will be fully operational under provincial management starting September 1, 2026.
