Sevilla FC has entered a decisive phase of the transfer market. After several weeks focused on balancing the accounts and completing the first moves of the summer, the sporting management led by José Ignacio Navarro has begun to accelerate efforts to reinforce a squad that still needs additions in several positions. The initial arrivals at no cost, the continuity of some players, and the recent departures have allowed for a different scenario in Nervión, where the focus is now on completing the attack before the start of LaLiga.
The planning began with the signings of Guridi, Juan Iglesias, and Sangante, three players who arrived without transfer fees to expand the options for Luis García Plaza. Subsequently, the sporting director managed to secure the continuity of Odysseas, an operation highly valued internally for maintaining stability in goal. However, the real turning point came with two outgoing operations that significantly eased the club's economic situation.
The transfer of Tanguy Nianzou to Lille allowed for the freeing up of one of the highest salaries in the squad, while the sale of Akor Adams to Venezia generated a significant financial boost. Both operations have granted Sevilla greater leeway to enter the market with more maneuverability, especially in a position considered a priority like that of the centre-forward.
In this context, two names have emerged that the sporting management has been analysing in recent days. One of them is Uruguayan international Fede Viñas. The forward returns to Club León after his loan at Real Oviedo, where he scored nine goals in 29 matches, and is among the players likely to leave the Mexican side this summer. According to journalist César Luis Merlo, Sevilla is monitoring his situation, although they face a clear economic disadvantage against clubs like Toluca, Spartak Moscow, or Wrexham, with figures being discussed exceeding ten million euros.
The other attacking option that has emerged on Sevilla's agenda is Argentine David Romero. The 23-year-old forward from Tigre is experiencing the best moment of his career after scoring eleven goals in nineteen matches this season, spread across the Torneo Apertura, Copa Sudamericana, and Copa Argentina. His progress has attracted the interest of several European clubs, including Parma and Sevilla itself, while Boca Juniors is also trying to convince the player to stay in Argentina. A move to European football could be a factor that favours Sevilla's aspirations if negotiations are formalised.
When consulted, the Nervión club acknowledged that both forwards are part of the group of players being evaluated, although they did not confirm that significant movements are underway for them. The sporting management continues to study different profiles, hoping that Luis García Plaza will have a new striker at his disposal.
Meanwhile, one signing is practically secured. Sevilla is well advanced in the arrival of Julio Díaz, one of Atlético de Madrid's prospects. The under-20 international is set to arrive in the Seville capital in the coming hours after negotiations between both clubs reached an understanding for the transfer of 50% of his rights. The operation, according to Marca, is valued at around 1.5 million euros including fixed and variable amounts. The left-back has already received permission from Atlético not to train normally to avoid any physical setbacks that could jeopardise the agreement.
With several weeks of the transfer market still ahead, Sevilla enters a decisive period of its planning. The priority remains to strengthen the attack, although recent operations allow for approaching upcoming negotiations with greater capacity than existed at the start of the summer.
