The City Council of Dos Hermanas has begun work on a new deflector lane at the roundabout of Universidades Avenue and Adolfo Suárez. The project, which will last four months, aims to streamline traffic.
The City Council of Dos Hermanas has initiated works to create a deflector lane at the roundabout connecting Universidades Avenue with Adolfo Suárez Avenue. The goal is for vehicles travelling from Adolfo Suárez to Universidades to do so directly, without having to enter the roundabout.
The project, which covers approximately 2,000 square meters, involves reorganising the current lanes and adapting sidewalks, parking areas, and other urban elements. Pavements, curbs will also be renewed, and the bike lane will be replaced, maintaining its width of 1.60 meters.
The works include accessibility improvements, with tactile pavements and crossings for people with reduced mobility, as well as work on sewage and drainage networks. Signage will also be adapted, and affected public lighting will be relocated.
The estimated execution period is four months. During this time, the Local Police will coordinate the provisional traffic organisation to minimise inconvenience to drivers, who will need to pay attention to temporary signage.
With this intervention, the City Council continues its commitment to improving mobility on the main road axes of Dos Hermanas, an area that experiences heavy daily traffic due to its connection with the university campus and the commercial area.
