The Sports Delegation of Alcalá de Guadaíra has opened the registration period for the IV Subida al Águila, which will take place on Saturday 19 September. The limit is 300 participants and registrations close on 13 September.

The route, measuring 4.08 kilometres, consists of three laps of an urban circuit that passes by some of the most emblematic spots in the city. The start and finish will be at the esplanade of the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Eagle, and the course includes the Castle of Alcalá, Avenida del Águila, Calle San Fernando, Plaza del Perejil, Plaza del Duque, Calle José Lafita, and the slope of Santa María.

The municipal delegate for Sports, Pedro Gracia, has emphasised that the event has become established in the local calendar. “After the success of the first editions, this sporting event is consolidating and is now part of the municipal race calendar. We prepare it with great enthusiasm because it combines sport and Alcalá pride through a unique route that showcases some of the most representative historical and cultural elements of our city,” he stated.
The race, which will start at 9:00, is not only a timed competition but also an opportunity to rediscover the heritage of Alcalá de Guadaíra. Participants will be able to enjoy views of the castle and streets with centuries of history while tackling the incline to the sanctuary.

The organisation has established that numbers will be collected on 16 and 17 September at the facilities of the Sports Delegation, located at Calle José Ortega y Gasset s/n, from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. Numbers will not be distributed on the day of the race, so runners should plan their collection in advance.
