The Local Police of Alcalá de Guadaíra has solved three recent cases: a burglary, a toxic spill on rural land, and a drug dealing point. Municipal cameras and community collaboration have been decisive.
The Local Police of Alcalá de Guadaíra has closed three investigations in recent weeks. The first allowed the identification of the alleged perpetrators of a burglary in the locality. The images recorded by the cameras of the video surveillance system being deployed in the city were analysed by the officers, who reconstructed the escape route of the suspects and obtained sufficient evidence to determine their identity.
The municipal camera system has accumulated 55 requests for collaboration from the Security Forces since the beginning of the year. These requests refer to identifications, control, and location of vehicles and individuals linked to criminal acts. According to municipal sources, they have yielded positive results in identifying perpetrators of property crimes, document falsifications, and individuals involved in injuries.
"The video surveillance system is improving the preventive and operational capacity of the Security Forces, speeding up responses to incidents and optimising resources," officials from the City Council have stated.
The second action focused on a crime against natural resources. On August 18, during surveillance by the personnel of the Headquarters, a large number of empty containers were detected in a rural area of the municipality. The containers contained remnants of a flammable and toxic liquid and lacked the mandatory treatment at an authorised centre. After the investigation, those responsible for the dumping were identified, and proceedings were initiated that will be sent to the court.
The third case was resolved on August 29, when officers dismantled an active drug dealing point. The operation began upon detecting unusual movement of people in a leisure area located on Rafael Beca Street. The operation concluded with the seizure of several doses of substances ready for distribution, cash, and a precision scale. The alleged perpetrator was arrested and handed over to the National Police Station of the locality.
The delegate of Governance, Pedro Gracia, has highlighted the joint work of the Local Police units, the training of the officers, the collaboration with the National Police Corps, and citizen participation. In this regard, he emphasised that these tools contribute to maintaining Alcalá de Guadaíra as a safe and clean environment.
Activity data from last August reinforces this work: the Local Police attended to 2031 incidents, arrested or investigated 28 people, and carried out 1051 identifications. The City Council continues to deploy video surveillance in the city and reminds residents that anyone can collaborate with the authorities to prevent crimes.
