The urban orientation event 'The Hidden Province' arrives in Aznalcázar on Saturday, October 3. Participation is free and open to all, with registrations until September 30.
The municipality of Aznalcázar will be the setting on Saturday, October 3 for a new edition of 'The Hidden Province', an urban orientation event on foot that combines the search for controls with questions about local heritage. The activity is organized by the Seville Delegation of the Andalusian Federation of Orientation Sports (FADO) and the Adolince club, and is financially supported by the Seville Provincial Council.
The chosen format is Score, with a free route and open choice of layout. Participants will compete in mixed teams of 2 or 3 people and, in addition to locating hidden controls by reading maps, they must answer cultural questions about Aznalcázar's heritage to earn points. This fusion of sport and knowledge of the environment is the main attraction of this event.
The event is designed for all audiences and does not require federation membership or prior experience. The organization will provide a brief training session before the start for those approaching this discipline for the first time. Participation is completely free.
The event is structured into five categories to adjust the difficulty to each profile. Family Adventure is open to all ages; Yellow Adventure is aimed at children from 11 years with a beginner level; Orange Adventure for young people from 16 years and adults who are also beginners; Red Adventure for intermediate level; and Black Adventure reserved for adults with advanced level.
The day will start at 9:30 AM and conclude around 1:00 PM. To participate, all that is needed is comfortable sports clothing and footwear, and a pen to write down the answers. The organization will take care of medical assistance and will cover accident insurance for non-federated participants.
Registrations will remain open until Wednesday, September 30 at 2:00 PM and places can be reserved for free through the official form provided by the Adolince club. Interested individuals from Aznalcázar and the rest of the region thus have an opportunity to learn about local heritage from a different perspective, in a morning of outdoor activity designed for teams.
