The Lebrija City Council has opened the application period for businesses and entities in the municipality to submit their candidacies for the XII edition of the Industrial Tourism Awards of the Province of Seville. The call, managed by Prodetur, will remain open until October 16.

The Lebrija-based company Forja Lebrija already knows what it means to win an Industrial Tourism Award. In the last edition, the eleventh, it won the award in the Living Industry category, a recognition that the Lebrija City Council now wants other local firms to replicate. Therefore, the City Council has launched a call to businesses, entities, and professionals in the municipality to participate in the XII edition of these awards, organized by the Provincial Council of Seville through Prodetur.

Two Categories for Lebrijan Industrial Tourism

The annual awards aim to highlight the industrial heritage of Seville and the productive activities with tourism potential. In this edition, applications can compete in two categories. The first, Living Industry, rewards tourist visits to operational companies and productive activities, such as those in the agri-food sector, energy, crafts, or livestock. The second, Industrial Heritage, recognizes initiatives that enhance old factory spaces, interpretation centres, or infrastructures linked to transport and the productive history of the municipalities.

Precisely, Forja Lebrija, a local company dedicated to artisanal forging, was the winner in the Living Industry category in 2025. Its success demonstrates that Lebrija has potential to stand out in this field, according to municipal sources. The City Council encourages other companies to follow its example and present projects that showcase the value of industry, craftsmanship, and agri-food production as tourist attractions.

Deadline Until October 16 and New Features in the Awards

Applications can be submitted until October 16, 2026, by sending the registration form and a descriptive report of the candidacy via email to turismoindustrial@prodetur.es. The report, with a maximum of five pages, must outline the history of the candidacy and the actions taken in favour of industrial tourism. Companies, individuals or legal entities, as well as public and private entities with their headquarters in the province of Seville or at least with a establishment in one of its municipalities, can apply for the awards.

The winners will receive a trophy, the production of a promotional video, and a dissemination campaign on Prodetur's social media. But there is a new feature that makes this edition particularly attractive: the winning entities in each category will enjoy a special participation in FITUR 2027. This includes accommodation and travel to Madrid for two representatives, active presence at the Seville Province stand during the International Tourism Fair, and attendance at the official presentation event of the Seville destination organized by the Provincial Council.

The Lebrija City Council considers this call an opportunity to recognise the work of companies that contribute to preserving and disseminating industrial heritage while strengthening the promotion of the municipality as a destination linked to innovation, tradition, and productive culture. For the people of Lebrija, it is also a way to showcase their rich industrial and artisanal history to the world.

The complete rules of the awards are available for download on the Prodetur website. The City Council reminds that the deadline is tight, so they encourage interested companies to prepare the documentation as soon as possible to avoid missing out on an event that can give them national and international visibility.
