A total of 110 people departed from Gines towards the beach of San Fernando in the second outing of the cycle 'Los Jueves al Sol', which will continue throughout the summer with destinations in Huelva and Cádiz.
The second destination of the 'Los Jueves al Sol' 2026 programme has been a success in participation: two full buses, with 110 people on board, left early in the morning from Gines heading to the beach of San Fernando, in the province of Cádiz. The initiative, organised by the Gines Town Hall, aims to offer residents an economical and comfortable option to enjoy the Andalusian coast during the summer months.
An affordable summer of beaches for the residents of Gines
The 'Los Jueves al Sol' cycle has established itself as one of the star activities of the summer in the locality. Every Thursday, participants travel by bus to different beaches in Huelva and Cádiz for a price of 8 euros per person, with reduced rates of 7 euros for unemployed individuals, retirees, and large families. Minors must be accompanied, with a maximum of five per adult.
The programme will continue on July 23rd to Isla Cristina (Huelva), and on July 30th to Urbasur, in Islantilla (Huelva). In August, the outings will be on the 6th to La Victoria (Cádiz), the 13th to El Palmar (Cádiz), the 20th to Punta Umbría (Huelva), and the 27th to Barbate (Cádiz), as a grand finale.
How to sign up for the upcoming excursions
Registrations are carried out at the Casa del Mayor de Gines, in Plaza de España, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, on the Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays prior to each excursion. A maximum of five registrations per person is allowed, and spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out.
“It’s a perfect opportunity for those who don’t have a car or prefer not to drive. You arrive, swim, and come back without worrying about parking,” commented one of the participants on the trip to San Fernando.
The Gines Town Hall reminds that the price includes the round trip by bus, and that the initiative is designed for all ages. Residents interested in the upcoming outings should pay attention to the registration deadlines, as spots tend to fill up quickly.
With this second outing, Gines once again demonstrates its commitment to accessible and quality leisure, allowing residents to enjoy the sea without having to travel in their own vehicles. The next date, July 23rd, promises to be a full house again.
