The Gines Town Hall has begun pouring concrete for the screen walls of the basement of the future Sanatorio Building, a project costing €1,117,127.66 funded by the Provincial Council.
The construction of the future Sanatorio Building in Gines has entered a new phase with the start of the pouring of the retaining walls of the basement. This week, the company Aguas, Caminos y Puentes (ACP) Infraestructuras has started pouring concrete into the screen walls that will define the perimeter of the basement, a key step following the demolition of the old 'teachers' houses' and the excavation of the land.
According to the Town Hall, the concrete works will last approximately two weeks. Once completed, work will continue with the flooring of the first floor, thus advancing the construction of this multifunctional building that will occupy a total area of over 1,100 square metres.
The Sanatorio Building is being constructed at the confluence of Cervantes and Nuestra Señora del Rocío streets, in an area popularly known as Sanatorio. The project includes a basement, two above-ground floors, and a tower that will cap one of the building's corners, giving it a unique appearance.
On the ground floor, the building will house three spacious premises with restrooms and direct street access. The first floor will feature two more premises, three offices, and a common area with restrooms. The entire complex is designed as a community centre, aimed at promoting local associations and revitalising one of Gines' historic sites.
The total investment amounts to €1,117,127.66, a sum that will be fully financed by the Provincial Council of Seville. The Gines Town Hall has highlighted the efforts made by the Municipal Government Team to secure this funding, which will provide the municipality with a meeting space for its citizens.
The future building, expected to be operational in the coming months, will become a reference point for local associations, which will have modern facilities tailored to their needs. Additionally, the project will contribute to the urban regeneration of the area, enhancing the use of a space that has been occupied by the old teachers' houses for years.
The residents of Gines will be able to closely follow the progress of the works, which are advancing according to the planned schedule. The Town Hall has assured that the public will be kept informed about the upcoming milestones of the construction, which will include the flooring of the first floor and the raising of the tower.
