The Social Welfare, Equality and Health department of the Gines City Council has added two social workers and a psychologist to its team to improve citizen support.
The Gines City Council has expanded the staff of its Social Welfare, Equality Policies and Health department with the addition of three new professionals. Two of them have joined as social workers in the Social Welfare area, while a third has joined as a psychologist at the Municipal Information Centre for Women (CMIM).
With these new hires, the municipality completes the basic staff of social workers it is entitled to according to the population ratio established by law. In the case of the CMIM, the new psychologist ensures the continuity and enhancement of the specialised support provided by this municipal service.
The mayor of Gines, Romualdo Garrido, welcomed the new additions alongside the municipal delegate for Social Welfare, Equality and Health, María Jesús de los Santos; the Personnel delegate, Mercedes Camino, and the centre's director, Monserrat Díaz. During the meeting, they discussed the lines of work to achieve better coordination with the rest of the staff at the Casa Amarilla.
These hires are jointly funded by the City Council and the Provincial Council of Seville, under the Provincial Plan for Social Cohesion and Equality 2024-2027. This plan includes an investment that allows for the reinforcement of social services in the municipalities of the province.
The arrival of these professionals represents a significant enhancement of municipal public services, aimed at providing closer, more agile, and higher-quality support. Additionally, it helps to expand guarantees in service delivery and to consolidate a person-centred care model.
With this measure, the Gines City Council reaffirms its commitment to stronger and more accessible public services, focused on protecting citizens' rights and responding to the social needs of the municipality. The staff expansion allows for quicker processing and reduced waiting times in assisting residents.
