The Multifunctional Venue El Abrazo hosts the concert of Abraham Mateo this Friday, with all tickets sold out. La Rinconada is one of the five venues of the provincial festival, which features nine concerts until October 3.
La Rinconada becomes the starting point of the Patio+Metrópolis Festival organised by the Seville Provincial Council this Friday. The Multifunctional Venue El Abrazo will host the concert of Abraham Mateo, the first of nine in this third edition, as reported by the La Rinconada City Council.
Anticipation in the municipality is at its peak: all tickets sold out shortly after going on sale. The show will kick off the programme in a performance space with great capacity, as highlighted by the first deputy mayor and cultural delegate, Raquel Vega, who emphasised that the concert is co-financed with the provincial entity.
“We are opening this prestigious festival, and moreover, in such an iconic and spacious venue as El Abrazo, with an international artist like Abraham Mateo, who will delight us with a unique concert, which we co-finance with the provincial entity,” said Vega.
The festival runs in parallel in the capital, with the Patio of the Provincial Headquarters as a stage, and in the metropolitan area. This edition features five municipalities: La Rinconada, Utrera, Alcalá de Guadaíra, Dos Hermanas, and Mairena del Aljarafe. The programme extends from September 11 to October 3.
Artists such as Café Quijano, Tanxugueiras, Morgan, Los Planetas, Ginebras, Pablo López, Luz Casal, and La Plazuela will perform. The styles range from pop, rock, indie, singer-songwriter, contemporary flamenco, roots music, electronic, to new sounds, aiming to bring live music to diverse audiences and extend cultural activity beyond the capital.
The mayor of La Rinconada and president of the Provincial Council, Javier Fernández, visited the venue accompanied by municipal cultural officials, Raquel Vega; Major Festivals, Rafael Reyes; Citizen Security, Francisco José Rodríguez; and Equality, Noelia Ramírez. Fernández defended investment in culture as a citizen's right and a common good that must be guaranteed by administrations.
“We have said it many times, and we reaffirm it with this festival, culture is a citizen's right and an indispensable investment, not an expense,” declared the mayor.
The Patio of the Provincial Council, with over 1,500 square metres, acts as the cultural epicentre of Seville, while Metrópolis extends that programming to the five municipalities of the metropolitan area. For Fernández, this collaboration allows sharing the cultural tension of the capital and bringing top-level events to the provincial territories.
Abraham Mateo, who began his career at the age of 7 and signed with Sony Music at 14, has released hits such as “Señorita”, “Loco enamorado”, “Háblame bajito”, or “Se acabó el amor”, and has collaborated with artists like Jennifer López, Luis Fonsi, or 50 Cent. The concert in La Rinconada will be the starting signal for a festival that will spread live music throughout the metropolitan area until October 3.
