The Town Hall of Tomares offers a 5-hour course to obtain the food handler certificate, mandatory in the hospitality sector. Applications can be submitted from 9th to 23rd September.

The Town Hall of Tomares, through its Local Development Agency (ADL), has organised a Certified Food Handler course of 5 hours, which will take place on Tuesday 29th September at the Tomás de Ybarra Cultural Centre, located at Calle Concepción Ibarra, 1. The schedule will be from 16:30 to 21:30 and 20 places are available.

This training action is part of the Tomares Capacita 2026 programme, a municipal initiative aimed at improving the employability of residents registered in the municipality, whether unemployed, workers seeking better employment, or professionals in the sector.

The course trains participants in hygiene and food safety techniques to prevent food contamination and avoid alterations. This certificate is mandatory for working in hospitality and any food industry, according to Royal Decree 202/2000 and European Regulation (EC) 852/2004.

Upon completion of the training, students will receive an official certificate valid throughout Spain, accredited in accordance with Royal Decree 109/2010 and the aforementioned European regulation.

"The aim of this course is to equip participants with the appropriate hygiene and food safety techniques in food handling, to prevent contamination and possible food alterations," according to municipal sources.

Applications can be submitted from 9th to 23rd September, on a first-come, first-served basis. The form is available at the end of the information published on the municipal website or can be collected at the ADL, located at Calle Tomás Ybarra, 2.

Document submission can be done at the Electronic Headquarters of the Town Hall of Tomares or at the Citizen Service (Calle de la Fuente, 10), with an online appointment.

For inquiries, interested parties can write to adl@tomares.es or call 954 15 91 20, extensions 1203 or 3302.
