The Cádiz singer Abraham Mateo will offer a concert at El Abrazo on September 11, as part of the third edition of the Patio+Metrópolis Festival organised by the Diputación de Sevilla.
La Rinconada will be the opening venue for the third edition of the Patio+Metrópolis Festival, a musical cycle organised by the Diputación de Sevilla, which this year includes five municipalities from the metropolitan area. Abraham Mateo will kick off the festival with a performance on September 11 at the El Abrazo auditorium.
Tickets for this concert, as well as for the rest of the programme, will go on sale on July 28 through the website festivaldelpatio.es, at a flat price of 5 euros. The capacity of the Rinconada venue, one of the largest performance spaces in the province, will allow a large audience to enjoy one of the most prominent figures in Spanish pop and urban rhythms.
Abraham Mateo, from San Fernando (Cádiz), began his career at just seven years old and rose to international fame with the song 'Señorita' when he was 14. Since then, he has accumulated hits like 'Loco enamorado', 'Háblame bajito', and 'Clavaíto', the latter in collaboration with Chanel. His style has evolved from melodic ballads to R&B and urban sounds, and he has collaborated with artists such as Jennifer López, Luis Fonsi, and 50 Cent.
The Culture Delegate of La Rinconada, Raquel Vega, expressed her satisfaction with the inclusion of the municipality in this metropolitan circuit and highlighted that opening the festival with an internationally renowned artist is a source of pride for the locality. “We are launching this prestigious festival in such an iconic venue as El Abrazo, with a concert that we co-finance with the Diputación,” she stated.
The Patio+Metrópolis Festival is organised by the Diputación de Sevilla and combines concerts in the Patio del Olivo at the provincial headquarters with performances in the five municipalities with more than 40,000 inhabitants in the metropolitan area: La Rinconada, Utrera, Alcalá de Guadaíra, Dos Hermanas, and Mairena del Aljarafe. In total, there will be nine concerts held between September 11 and October 3.
This edition's lineup includes names such as Café Quijano, Tanxugueiras, Morgan, Los Planetas, Ginebras, Pablo López, Luz Casal, and La Plazuela. The programme encompasses styles ranging from pop to rock, including indie, singer-songwriter, contemporary flamenco, and electronic music.
The president of the Diputación, Javier Fernández, asserted during the festival's presentation that culture is “a citizen's right and an indispensable investment.” He stated that for the provincial institution, investing in culture is placing it on the same level as social services or infrastructure. “The Patio is the cultural heart that beats in the centre of Seville, and Metrópolis is the extension of that heartbeat into the province,” he affirmed.
For the residents of La Rinconada, Abraham Mateo's concert represents an opportunity to enjoy top-level live music without the need to travel to the capital. El Abrazo, with its large capacity, thus becomes a cultural attraction for the entire metropolitan area.
Tickets, at a very affordable price of 5 euros, will be available from July 28 on the festival's official website. It is recommended to purchase them in advance, as high demand is expected to see one of the Spanish artists with the greatest international projection at the moment.
