The cyclist from La Rinconada, Loren Herrera, will start this Sunday at the UCI Gravel World Championship, held in Nannup (Western Australia). He is one of ten Spaniards registered and will compete in the 35 to 39 age category.
The rinconero Loren Herrera has travelled to Nannup, in Western Australia, to compete in the UCI Gravel World Championship, an event that will bring together the best specialists in this discipline from around the world. The cyclist is part of a group of ten Spanish representatives who have qualified for the world championship.
The race takes place this weekend, and Herrera will compete in the 35 to 39 years age category. His start is scheduled for Sunday at 10:35 AM (local time in Western Australia), which corresponds to the early hours of Saturday to Sunday in Spain.
This year's course is particularly demanding. It runs through the Blackwood valley, among pine plantations and forest paths, featuring dirt tracks, compacted clay, and sections of fine gravel. The accumulated elevation gain will test the physical and technical endurance of the participants.
Herrera approaches the event after qualifying directly, a result that has established him among the national references in the specialty. His presence in Australia once again places the name of La Rinconada on the international cycling stage.
“I face the challenge with the utmost ambition after a remarkable trajectory and a direct qualification,” the athlete himself stated.
The race is held on a relentless circuit, with technical sections and terrain that punishes any mistake. The cyclist's followers will be able to follow his participation through the official channels of the UCI.
