The Multifunctional Centre Hacienda Santa Cruz in La Rinconada will host the first EXPONE Innovation Laboratory on September 11. Best practices, communication, and professional recognition in museums and exhibitions will be the focus of a day organised by the Association of Museology and Museography of Andalusia (AMMA) in collaboration with the La Rinconada City Council.
The initiative arises from the accumulated experience of the EXPONE Awards, which in its six editions has brought together over 300 projects and has established a knowledge bank in areas such as museography, cultural mediation, conservation, and citizen participation. With this laboratory, that knowledge will transition to a face-to-face format to become a forum for the transfer of experiences among professionals, institutions, and the public.
The day will revolve around the question of what makes a cultural project stand out and be recognised. Through technical and methodological panels, attendees will analyse the keys to building excellent cultural applications, addressing the design of the exhibition narrative, rigorous documentation, impact indicator measurement, and communication strategies.
The programme includes a round table with project leaders and cultural applications, followed by a networking space to foster new professional connections. One of the central moments will be the public presentation of the finalist applications for the Special Public Award of the EXPONE Awards, whose representatives will have brief interventions to explain the impact of their projects. After the presentations, the public voting system will open, directly involving professionals and the public in the process.
The First Deputy Mayor and Cultural Delegate of La Rinconada, Raquel Vega, highlighted that hosting this laboratory reinforces the municipality's commitment to innovation and cutting-edge cultural management:

The event in La Rinconada will serve as a pilot experience to structure EXPONE ON TOUR, an initiative with which AMMA plans to extend this knowledge transfer model to other Andalusian municipalities.
The day will begin at 10:30 AM with an institutional welcome. At 11:00 AM, the round table How to Build an Excellent Cultural Application will take place, featuring projects such as the La Rinconada UNESCO Creative City Application, the Itálica World Heritage Application, LAB Sevilla, and the Cultural Landscape Project of Carmona. At 12:00 PM, there will be a coffee break and networking, and at 12:45 PM, the finalist applications for the Special Public Award will be presented in a pitch format of up to 3 minutes per intervention. The closing is scheduled for 1:15 PM, with a summary of the key points extracted and an update on the next actions of the EXPONE project in Andalusia.
