The Lebrija City Council recognised this Monday the work of booth owners and celebrated the half-century of the La Cigüeña booth, in an event prior to the 2026 Fair.
The Lebrija City Council gathered this Monday, 7th September, the heads of the booths for the 2026 Fair in a meeting held at the Municipal Booth. The event served to thank the families and groups that make the Fair possible each year.
The mayor, José Barroso, presided over the meeting alongside the delegate for Festivals. During his speech, he emphasised that the Fair is not just about lights, attractions or music, but also about the people who bring the booths to life.
“The Fair is not just about the lights, the attractions, the music or the programme of activities,” but also “about the people who, year after year, make it possible for our booths to come alive.”
The mayor expressed his gratitude to all booth owners for maintaining the personality and characteristic atmosphere of the festival, which this year will be held from 8th to 12th September.
The highlight of the evening was the tribute to the La Cigüeña booth, which is celebrating its 50 years since its foundation. Both the mayor and the delegate for Festivals wanted to publicly acknowledge its history.
“Fifty years is many Fairs. Fifty years of meetings, of families, of friendships and of shared memories,” emphasised Barroso, who highlighted that this history represents “a commitment maintained over generations to our Fair and our city.”
During the event, congratulations were extended to all those who have been part of La Cigüeña over these five decades, thanking them for their contribution to the history of the Lebrija Fair.
This meeting marks the kickoff for preparations for an edition that will once again turn the municipality into a meeting point for locals and visitors.
