La Rinconada's Summer School has concluded its August programme with 163 minors and adolescents across two schools. The free initiative of the Co-Responsibility Plan included outings to municipal pools.
The Summer School programme in La Rinconada has wrapped up its August edition after catering to 163 minors and adolescents from the municipality. The free initiative took place in two locations: CEIP Guadalquivir, with 70 participants, and CEIP La Paz, with 93.
Driven by the Youth and Childhood and Equality departments of the City Council, as part of the Co-Responsibility Plan, the school had a precursor in July with the Young Summer programme. Throughout August, the minors enjoyed weekly outings to the municipal pools Castañita and El Negro.
This year's educational proposal was structured under the name 'Co-Responsible Agents', a gamified dynamic in which the children became members of a Co-Responsible Operations Centre (COC). Through daily missions, they participated in workshops on creativity, STEAM science, emotional intelligence, sustainability, and sports.
Each activity addressed values such as equality, co-responsibility, coexistence, emotional education, and healthy lifestyle habits, with a cooperative approach tailored to the different ages of the participants.
The delegate for Youth and Childhood, Mercedes Bueno, visited the minors during the programme alongside the delegate for Equality, Noelia Ramírez. Bueno praised the reception of the project:
“The response at both locations has been excellent, and the educational proposal has allowed them to develop skills in a fully participative and inclusive way while enjoying summer leisure and the municipal pools.”
For her part, Ramírez highlighted the impact of the school on the families of La Rinconada:
“The Summer School is a fundamental tool for real reconciliation. Thanks to active methodologies and challenges like 'Operation Co-Responsibility', we have managed to highlight the importance of equitable distribution of care and eliminate stereotypes from childhood, ensuring family respite spaces during the holiday period.”
The Co-Responsibility Plan is promoted by the Ministry of Equality, through the Secretary of State for Equality and the Eradication of Violence against Women. In Andalusia, the programme is developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality and the Ministry of Health and Consumption, which subsidises the project.
