The municipal initiative of La Rinconada concludes its summer edition with training, leisure, and excursions. Over 250 young people have participated in the proposals from the Youth and Childhood Department.
La Rinconada has wrapped up a new edition of the Summer in the Centre programme, an initiative promoted by the Youth and Childhood Department that has offered young people in the municipality an educational leisure alternative during the holidays for over a month. In total, more than 250 young people have participated in some of the scheduled activities, which have combined training, personal development, and social interaction.
The training offer has been one of the central pillars of this edition. The courses on Pre-Monitoring and Youth and Children’s Activity Facilitation have allowed participants to acquire tools to design and develop activities with minors. As a practical part of their learning, the students collaborated in the Urban Camp organized by the department at CEIP La Paz and prepared an afternoon of games and dynamics for children at the Dehesa Boyal park.
Technology has also played a significant role. Through the courses on Office Automation and Artificial Intelligence and Digital Creators, young people have strengthened their digital skills, learning to use technological tools responsibly, creatively, and with a view to future employment.
As a new feature this year, the course Speak and Play in Korean has sparked notable interest among participants. The proposal, which brings the Korean language and culture closer through a participatory methodology, responds to the growing appeal this language has among the youth.
The programme was completed with workshops on Personal Growth OPI and Youth Participation, designed to strengthen personal and social skills, promote community involvement, and create spaces for meeting and reflection. Additionally, excursions were organized to Punta del Moral, Bolonia, and Portugal, featuring days of social interaction, water activities, and visits to natural and cultural sites.
“This edition has once again confirmed that young people respond when offered attractive and quality proposals,” said the Youth and Childhood delegate, Mercedes Bueno. “We have had high participation, demonstrating that summer can also be a time for training, acquiring new skills, and enjoying healthy leisure.”
The programme, which aims to support family reconciliation during the holiday period, bids farewell with an eye on future editions. The delegate has indicated that the results encourage continuing to expand and improve the offer next summer.
