Real Betis Offers Flowers to the Patroness of Alcalá de Guadaíra

Real Betis visited Alcalá de Guadaíra to offer flowers to its Patroness, Santa María del Águila Coronada, in an event with the mayor and fans.

Real Betis Balompié visited the Sanctuary of Alcalá de Guadaíra on Tuesday to make its seasonal floral offering to Santa María del Águila Coronada, the town's Patroness.

The Real Betis Balompié fulfilled one of its most significant traditions on 1st September: the floral offering to the Patroness of Alcalá de Guadaíra, Santa María del Águila Coronada, at the start of the 2026/27 season.

A representation from the green-and-white entity, led by its board of directors, coaching staff, and the first team players, was welcomed at the Sanctuary by the mayor, Ana Isabel Jiménez, the municipal sports delegate, Pedro Gracia, and the Governing Board of the Brotherhood.

The mayor thanked the club for its gesture towards the citizens and Alcalá's traditions, expressing confidence in the role the town will play in the club's upcoming campaign.

“I am sure Alcalá will be the talisman that gives strength to the players for a historic season that will see the club compete in the Champions League. Thank you very much to Real Betis and the Brotherhood for this beautiful moment that has brought joy to hundreds of Beticos from our city.”

The event, which has become a recurring occasion for the past eleven years, serves for the club to acknowledge Alcalá's historic devotion to its Patroness, dating back to the 13th century, and to thank the loyalty of the Alcalá Beticos, who have come to the sanctuary to share a moment with their idols.

The youngest fans had a special opportunity to spend some time with the players in their own town. The club also aimed to highlight the social work of the Brotherhood of Our Lady of the Eagle, such as its collaboration with the charity AFAR and its support for the convent of the Servants of the Home of the Mother, as well as its presence in Parish Caritas of the Church of Santiago.

The green-and-white entity has been making this floral offering in various temples across Seville and its province for over a decade as a gesture of gratitude to fans from all corners, through brotherhoods and confraternities that embody the popular devotion of Andalusia.
